Student Busted For School Bus Bomb Threat

15-year-old arrested on way to school in Miramar

An eighth grader who allegedly claimed he had a bomb on a school bus in Miramar was arrested Tuesday morning after police determined it was a hoax.

The incident happened at Southwest 146th Terrace and 36th Street as the bus was on its way to Glades Middle School.

"I have a bomb and I'm not afraid to use it," the unidentified 15-year-old allegedly said, according to a Broward school official.

After the student made the claim, police surrounded the bus and used a canine unit to make sure there were no explosives.

The teen was taken into custody but it's unknown whether he'll be charged.

The students were taken to school in another bus.
