A substitute teacher at a high school in Hollywood is facing sexual battery charges after authorities say he had a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old student.
Roman Jose Fondon Jr., a sub at Ben Gamla Charter High School, was arrested Wednesday on three counts of sexual battery on a minor and three counts of lewd or lascivious battery on a minor, Hollywood Police said.
According to an arrest affidavit, the 28-year-old Fondon engaged in sex acts with the female student at the school and at the parking lot of the Hollywood YMCA between Feb. 26 and April 30.
The girl told detectives she and Fondon started following each other on Instagram after he started working at the school and started sending each other messages, the affidavit said.
She said Fondon would talk about how his "fantasy" was "to do something with a student in class...so that's what we did," the affidavit said.
The girl said she went to Fondon's classroom one day where they performed sex acts on each other, then later in the day they engaged in sex acts in his car in the YMCA parking lot, the affidavit said. While in the classroom Fondon blindfolded her and secured her hands because the girl said they were both "into bondage," the affidavit said.
She also described three other incidents of sexual activity that happened in other jurisdictions, including in his car in the parking lot of the Aventura Mall, the affidavit said. Fondon slapped her across the face and tied her up during the encounter, the affidavit said.
Fondon also went to the girl's condominium in Hallandale Beach while her mother wasn't home and they once again engaged in sex acts, according to the report.

The girl said she sent Fondon topless photos of herself through social media, and he sent her pictures of his penis through Snapchat, the affidavit said. The affidavit said the girl's mother found her diary, which described some of the sexual interactions between the teen and Fondon.
Fondon was booked into jail, where he was being held without bond Thursday, records showed. Attorney information wasn't available.
In a letter to parents Thursday, Ben Gamla Principal Gayle Iacono said Fondon hasn't been on the campus this year and has no affiliation with the school.
"We are deeply saddened to hear of this incident and we are cooperating with law enforcement in their investigation while conducting our own parallel investigation," Iacono said.
Police said they're looking for more possible victims.
"Due to the severity of this crime and the position of authority held by the suspect over his victim, the Hollywood Police Department is requesting anyone who may have been victimized or has any information pertaining to the incident which occurred in Hollywood, to please contact the Hollywood Police Department," officials said in a statement.
Iacono said they are not aware of any other student at the school involved in the incident.
"However, out of an abundance of caution, we are providing notice to all parents of students who interacted with the teacher in any known capacity. Counselors are available to students, and we are also making them available to parents should there be a need by anyone," she wrote.
