Suspect Accused of Cop Car Theft, Violent Crime Spree in Court

A taxi driver accused of stealing a police car and going on a violent crime spree will remain in jail.

On Tuesday a Miami-Dade judge ordered Frantzy Armand, 29, to be held without bond on several charges.

Police say he exchanged gunfire last month with a Miami police officer who tried to pull him over.

A passing motorist was struck in the shoulder by a bullet.

A man in a van came to the officer's aid and that's when investigators say Armand stole the officer's patrol car and drove off, shooting another passing driver in the process.

It came to an end when an off-duty North Miami officer shot Armand several times.

He is facing several charges, including attempted murder of a law enforcement officer.
