Suspect Wanted in Walgreens Robbery

Man held employees at gunpoint in Miami

Miami Police are looking for a man who held up a Walgreens at gunpoint earlier this month.

On Aug. 14, the suspect walked into the store located at 161 NE 54th St. at around 8:30 a.m. and pretended to want to buy two small items, police said. He gave the cashier a $5 bill and when she opened the register, the man pulled out his gun and demanded the money.

The cashier ran for cover, and the suspect turned the gun on another employee of the store, the police said.

The suspect fled the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash, detectives said.

Anyone with information regarding these incidents is encouraged to call the City of Miami Robbery Unit at (305) 603-6370 or Crime Stoppers at (305) 471-TIPS (8477).
