Suspect in Hialeah Man's Murder Wanted, May Be in South Florida

Nearly a year after a Hialeah man was killed in North Carolina, authorities are searching for the murder suspect who they believe may be in South Florida.

In January it'll be a year since Hasiel Gonzalez was murdered in North Carolina and his family hopes someone can call in with a tip.

Gonzalez went to visit friends in Henderson, but disappeared the day before he was supposed to return home to Miami. His family reported him missing and weeks later they say his body was found.

The Vance County Sheriff's Office says Gonzalez was shot to death on January 22nd and they believe the person responsible for his death is 38-year-old Alejandro Ferrer.

According to the investigating officer, Ferrer seems to have fled to Florida within three to four days of the murder. Now the Gonzalez family has a message for this man on the run.

"Just give it up man. I know the life that you're living right now is not worth it. I know you're paranoid as hell. Any little noise that comes out you don't know what to do," brother Eric Gonzalez said. "And we want justice, we want to go on with our life."

Ferrer has a very distinctive Che Guevara tattoo in his chest, according to a police flyer. Anyone with information and who wants to remain anonymous can claim a $5,000 reward by calling Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
