Suspects Behind Dozens of Pharmacy Burglaries Busted: BSO

Three suspects accused in a burglary ring that has targeted prescription pills at more than 40 pharmacies in Miami-Dade and Broward have been arrested, authorities said Wednesday.

Broward Sheriff's Office officials said their burglary apprehension team participated in a multi-agency effort Tuesday to break up the ring. Two people were arrested in Miami Gardens and another arrest was made in North Bay Village.

The suspects were identified as Bryan Pitter, 26, Darrish Martin and Alonzo Hinson, both 24. It's unknown if they've hired attorneys.

All three men have been charged with burglary, criminal mischief and grand theft. Additional charges are pending, officials said.

Officials said thousands of prescription pills and bottle of cough medicine have been stolen from the stores dating back to July 2015. The suspects targeted Walgreens, CVS and Target stores and also stole drugs like morphine and codeine, officials said.

The investigation is ongoing.

Authorities are asking anyone with information about the burglaries to call Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
