Suspects Sought in Violent Miami Beach Home Invasion

The victim of a violent home invasion in Miami Beach is speaking out as police continue their search for the two suspects responsible.

Walter Lagos said he was sitting on his couch in his unit at the Gotham Plaza Apartments on Euclid Avenue the night of August 4 when the two suspects burst in and attacked him.

"I was watching TV and I don't know how this happened but one guy come and he just punched my face and I lost my mind," Lagos told NBC 6 Tuesday.

According to a police report, one suspect entered through the front door holding what appeared to be a knife, while a second suspect entered through the back door carrying a firearm.

The first suspect punched Lagos in the face, and took $2,000 in cash and a laptop, the report said. A woman who was crying hysterically in the home was punched in the face by one of the suspects, the report said.

The suspects fled the home, and Lagos had to be hospitalized.

Police are asking anyone with information to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
