Suspicious Substance Found at Nova Southeastern

Haz-Mat Team brought in after reports of white power at campus building in Davie

Dozens of rescue workers responded to the campus of Nova Southeastern University Tuesday morning after reports of a suspicious substance.

Davie Police and a Broward Sheriff's Office Haz-Mat team responded to school buildings at 3434 S. University drive shortly after 10 a.m.

It's unknown what was found inside the building but initial reports said it may have been a white powder.

Several Haz-Mat workers in full protective gear were seen going in and out of the building after authorities evacuated the area.

Police have not given any details on the incident or said if any injuries were reported.
