Feliciano spent 26 years with the department. They money they raised covered the fuel costs for a medical flight from Puerto Rico to Tampa, where he was taken to Moffitt Cancer Center for treatment. The money also helped with other transportation-related costs, and any leftovers will go toward his medical expenses.

The Tribune reports Feliciano was diagnosed in October, four years after retiring from the force. His condition was worsening when Tampa police Lt. Ruth Cate started a GoFundMe page to raise money to bring him to Tampa.
