Teen Arrested After Beef Over Ravioli

Teen charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon

Ravioli is a dinnertime favorite in many households, but a can of the pasta sparked a fighting spirit in one Florida family, authorities said.

Charlotte County Sheriff's Office deputies arrested 18-year-old Kyle Aldrich after he allegedly swung a knife at his older brother over a can of ravioli, an arrest report stated.

The incident happened in the Aldrich family kitchen Tuesday night, but the report doesn't say what exactly the brothers got heated about.

As Aldrich and his 20-year-old brother, Kody, argued over the evening meal, the elder "accidentally" hit Aldrich in the mouth with his elbow, the report stated.

That's when Aldrich grabbed a knife and swung it at his brother "a few times," he admitted to deputies, the report said. The brothers' mom defused the situation and took Kody Aldrich to a neighbor, who called 911, the report stated.

By the time authorities had arrived, the brothers had already ended the beef - the argument - not the dinner choice.

Aldrich, who was already on juvenile probation, has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He was being held in jail on no bond Wednesday.

It's unclear if he had an attorney.
