A 16-year-old student was arrested for bringing a gun to Boyd H. Anderson High School in Broward County on Friday, according to deputies.
The school is located at 3050 NW 41st Street in Lauderdale Lakes.
A concerned parent notified the school Friday morning after her nephew told her that a student had a gun with him.
Deputies determined that the firearm, a 22 caliber gun, was reported stolen. Officials also found stolen bank checks in the teen's possession.
The student was charged with grand theft and possession of a weapon on school property.
It is not known at this time if he has an attorney.
