Teen Charged With Kidnapping in Miami Amber Alert Case

The teen was arrested Tuesday in the kidnapping of Noah Florvil, who went missing Sunday night

A 15-year-old girl who took a 10-month-old Miami boy from his mother leading to a statewide Amber Alert earlier this week is facing kidnapping and other charges, police said.

The teen was arrested Tuesday in the kidnapping of Noah Florvil, who went missing Sunday night from his home on Northwest 12th Avenue, Miami Police said. NBC 6 is not identifying her because of her age.

According to an arrest report, Florvil's mother and the teen lived in a rooming house together for about two weeks. When the mother said she was moving to another place, the teen asked if she could stay with her.

After asking the teen to leave, the mother fell asleep in the same bed with Florvil. When she woke up, she noticed the child and her cell phone were missing, the report said.

The child was later found with the teen at the Palacio Inn Motel on E. Okeechobee Road, the report said. The teen gave detectives a fake name for herself and the child, the report said.

In addition to the kidnapping charge, the teen was charged with giving false information to law enforcement and grand theft.

The boy has been placed in the custody of the state following a shelter hearing on Tuesday. The next hearing is scheduled for April 20.
