Teen Charged as an Adult in School Bus Shooting

A 16-year-old boy is being charged as an adult with two counts of second-degree attempted murder for shooting into a Jacksonville school bus and injuring two girls.

Edgar Robles also faces several lesser charges and could face a possible life sentence if convicted.

Police say Robles fired his gun into the school bus May 14 after someone on the bus spit on him. Robles and some friends were apparently at the bus stop to fight another group of boys.

The Florida Times-Union reports police believe Robles was the only shooter, and that two of his friends are cooperating.

Robles was arrested in Liberty County, Georgia, on May 21.

His attorney Robert Davis said he had not had a chance to talk to his client, and had no further comment.
