Police are investigating after one teen was killed and another injured in a shooting in northwest Miami-Dade.
The shooting happened just before midnight Saturday in the 7300 block of Northwest 19th Avenue, Miami-Dade Police said Monday.
According to police, 15-year-old Deon Fowles and 16-year-old La-Nard Wilcher were walking along the train tracks with two other friends when they were approached by several men who started shooting at them.
The teens ran in different directions and Fowles was shot while running, police said. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he underwent emergency surgery.
The teens didn't realize Wilcher had also been shot, and his body was later found by a passerby on Sunday afternoon in the area of Northwest 72nd Street and Northwest 20th Avenue, police said.

Police are investigating the shooting and are asking anyone with information to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
