Teen Stabbed in Gas Station Parking Lot in Coral Springs

Police said the teen was stabbed in the abdomen and chest but was in stable condition

A teen boy was hospitalized after he was stabbed in the parking lot of a gas station in Coral Springs Thursday, police said.

Coral Springs Police said officers responded to reports of a juvenile with a possible stab wound in the 11600 block of W. Sample Road and found the teen stabbed in the chest and abdomen.

Police say the incident stemmed from a possible fight between a group of students at the gas station, which is a popular hangout for students in nearby schools, police said.

Fire rescue workers treated the boy, believed to be 15 years old, at the scene before he was airlifted to Broward General Medical Center, where he was in stable condition.

Two people were taken into custody at the scene but only one teen will face charges, police said.

Police did not say what schools the victim and suspect attend or if the weapon was brought to the school.

Sawgrass Springs Middle School and Coral Springs Middle Schools are in the vicinity of the gas station. NBC 6 reached out to the school board and are waiting to hear if the victim was a student at either school.
