15-Year-Old Suspect Tried as Adult Facing Life Behind Bars Over Miami Armed Carjacking

What to Know

  • The alleged carjacking occurred Jan. 16.
  • Detectives are still looking for two other suspects.

A 15-year-old being tried as an adult could receive a life sentence if convicted in the armed carjacking of which he stands accused.

The victim in the Jan. 16 carjacking said Daniel Parmer and two others came up to her car when she was parked on NW 13th Avenue and 57th street in Miami.

“By the time I looked back, the gun was to the window so there were guns pointed from each direction at me," the victim said.

The 36-year-old woman said Parmer demanded money from her and ordered her to get out of the car. The three suspects then drove off in her black Infinity.

“The defendant approached the driver’s side of the vehicle while pointing a black rifle at the victim while the codefendant and an unknown male were also pointing handguns at the victim," Miami-Dade Judge Mindy Glazer said while going over the accusations.

As the charge of armed carjacking carries no bond, Parmer will be jailed until his trial. Detectives are actively looking for the two other suspects allegedly involved in the carjacking.

The victim spoke out about the incident shortly after it occurred.

"One of them acts like he dropped something and before I know it he was at the car with a big-old gun in my face," said the woman, who didn't want her name released. "I turned, there was another one who had a big-old gun in my face, too. He was like 'Gimme the car, open the door!' He was like 'Gimme the money!'"

She said one suspect demanded her phone and then the code to the phone.

"I'm just like 'Don't shoot me!' and I got out the car and I walked away from the car and he couldn't even drive – he had it in neutral. He didn't even know how to drive," she said.
