Teen Walking Home From School Killed by Car

Three other teens injured after SUV hits them in Hialeah

One teenager is dead and three others injured after a driver lost control of his car and ran them over while they were walking home from school in Hialeah Thursday.

The kids were hit by a Ford Expedition that was traveling westbound on 9th St. near W. 1st Ave., police said, after the driver lost control of the SUV after suffering some sort of medical emergency.

Killed in the crash was a 14-year-old boy.

After the SUV plowed over the kids it kept going, hitting several vehicles before finally coming to a stop.

The three teens who survived were airlifted to Jackson Memorial Hospital. The driver was also injured and transported to a hospital. Their names and conditions are unknown.

The teens are students at Miami Springs Senior High School and are between the ages of 14 and 17.
