Teens Charged After Gun Found at Hollywood School Appear in Court

Two teenagers arrested for allegedly having a gun at a Hollywood middle school made their first appearance in court Wednesday where they were ordered to stay behind bars until Thursday.

The parents of the teens declined comment after Wednesday's court hearing, where the pair were ordered to come back to court on Thursday. In court the parents said both kids are honor roll students.

According to police, a loaded 9mm was found under a portable building at Apollo Middle School Tuesday. Another student at school saw the gun and told an adult, police said.

The school was placed on lockdown and the gun was later found.

A police report of the incident said a third student said one of the teens pointed the gun at him and said "don't tell." Police said the gun was reported stolen out of Fort Lauderdale.

During their first court appearance Wednesday one of the teenager's fathers said he doesn't know where his boy got the gun.

The police report is a bit confusing as to which juvenile actually brought it to school, so the judge voiced her concern then gave investigators an additional 24 hours to clarify that information.
