Thieves Stole Classic Car From Deerfield Beach Lot: BSO

Authorities are searching for a group of thieves who were caught on camera stealing a classic car from a Deerfield Beach lot.

The theft happened in the early hours of Nov. 8 at Domani Motor Car, Inc. at 70 Southwest 10th Street, Broward Sheriff's Office officials said Tuesday.

According to the BSO, at least three suspects targeted a white 1975 Chevy Caprice. The suspects got out of a white Dodge Ram 1500 truck and got into the car but were briefly scared away.

They returned and were able to start the Caprice and change the license plate before driving off, the BSO said.

"They were prepared. They already knew what they wanted to do; they wanted this classic car," said Gina Carter of the Broward Sheriff's Office. "They had their own assigned tasks. One was assigned to open the car, the other changing out the plate."

Detectives are searching for at least three suspects. One is a black male who was wearing a long sleeve grey shirt and a dark hat. The second suspect is a Hispanic male who was wearing a long sleeve blue shirt, shorts and a white hat. The third suspect was driving the truck and there is no description.

"These are not guys off the street. They are guys that know what they wanted," Carter said.

A reward of up to $3,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest. Anyone with info is asked to call Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
