Three Injured in Shooting in Miami Gardens

Three people were injured in a shooting in Miami Gardens Thursday afternoon, police said.

Two of the victims were found shot in the 2300 block of Northwest 180th Terrace. The third person was shot in the area of Northwest 23rd Avenue and Northwest 182nd Street.

The victims were taken to a local hospital and their conditions were unknown. Police were investigating both shootings and said they're looking for two suspects.

A resident, who has lived in Miami Gardens for more than 45 years, said it was once a safe place.

“There was no crime in those days,” said Moses Elliot. “Not like there is now.”

In response to the recent shootings in Miami Gardens, police released a statement saying, in part, “Currently the chief, along with the men and women of the City of Miami Gardens are proactively engaging the community in various ways. We are committed to doing our best investigating these recent shootings through leads and the partnerships we’ve built.”

Police said they are looking for two suspects. Anyone with information on this shooting is urged to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
