Tiger At Zoo Miami Dies

Roshe died at Zoo Miami

A 19-year-old female tiger at Zoo Miami has died.

A necropsy showed Roshe suffered from renal failure and was euthanized do to a long period of failing health, the zoo said in a statement.

Tigers in the wild have an average lifespan reaching between 10 to 12 years, the zoo said.

Millions of visitors have seen her since she came to Zoo Miami cince she was first arrived on February 1994.

Roshe’s exhibit mate Carlita, also 19, is a white tiger who faces health issues and will be moved to another off-exhibit.

Two endangered Malayan tigers will now be placed in the Tiger Temple. The 7-year-old male named Hati and 12-year-old female named Tevy will be placed together in an effort to get them to mate.
