Parents of Wandering Toddler Located

The girl appears to be around 2 years old.

Authorities said they have located the parents of a toddler found alone in the 2800 block of Northwest 1st Court on Friday.

Both of the parents were working and they had left the girl with her godmother, authorities said.

Don Wallace of Coconut Creek notified the Broward Sheriff's Office that he and his wife dropped off their 22-month-old daughter at a friend's house, the BSO said.

It wasn't immediately known how the girl wandered away and ended up on the road, but she was ultimately re-united with her parents.

Authorities said the girl will be 2 years old in May and wears a size 3T, deputies said.

She appears to be happy and healthy but cannot verbalize her name.

Authorities cleaned the girl and changed her clothes when they found her. She was a little dirty and had a soiled diaper. Deputies said a foster mother at the station happened to have the same size clothes in her car.

When she was found, she was wearing a yellow shirt with a flower on it, pink shorts and black and pink sandals.

BSO deputies scoured the neighborhood looking for anyone who may know her but didn't find anyone.
