Police are investigating the death of a toddler who was run over by a car driven by his mother in North Miami Monday.
The incident happened at Northeast 128th Street and 13th Avenue.
The child's mother didn't see her 1-year old son as she was backing out of the driveway, police said. She struck the boy who died at the scene.
Investigators said there appears to be no evidence of foul play and called it an accident. No charges were expected, police said.
"We're still looking into how it all happened, investigators were there until very late last night, gathering information, gathering facts, talking to neighbors, trying to see if there were any witnesses that can help us come to a conclusion as to how it actually happened," North Miami Police spokesman Rafael Estrugo said.
The incident remains under investigation.
