Tolls To Increase At Most State-Operated Locations on June 24

The change begins at 6 a.m. on June 24

Tolls will increase by a quarter along the Florida Turnpike and other toll roads operated by the state.

Both cash-paying and Sunpass customers will be paying the increase, the South Florida Sun Sentinel reported. The change begins at 6 a.m. on June 24 at most locations.

According to a 2007 bill passed by the state legislature, tolls automatically increase to adjust to the cost of living.

Some tolls to be increased include: turnpike tolls at Cypress Creek will now be a $1 for Sunpass customers and $1.25 for those paying cash. Alligator Alley drivers will pay $2.75 with Sunpass and an extra quarter for cash-payers.

Money made from the increase will be used to finance about $1.8 billion worth of projects.
