Road Closures & Traffic Alerts: Dolphins Cancer Challenge Race

This Saturday, hundreds of cyclists, runners and walkers will hit the streets of South Florida for a cause: The 2018 Dolphins Cancer Challenge.

The event, which was launched in 2010, aims to raise money for cancer research, according to the website. Proceeds from the massive event will be donated to the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center.

The race spans across the region, with various runs and rides scheduled for Boca Raton, Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Davie and other cities. A large turnout is expected and numerous road closures have been planned in anticipation of the crowds.

See major traffic alerts and closures below:

-The northbound Biscayne Blvd. ramp to eastbound MacArthur Causeway will be closed. Traffic will be detoured north on Biscayne Blvd. to east on NE 14th St. to south on North Bayshore Drive to east on MacArthur Causeway.

-The northbound I-95 ramp from westbound SR 83 will be closed. Traffic will be detoured through a U turn onto SR 84.

-Turnpike ramp from westbound SR 84 will be closed. Traffic will be detoured to Griffin Road via southbound SR 7 and US 441.
