‘Traveling Bandit' Behind Aventura Bank Robbery Arrested: FBI

A suspect accused of starting a nationwide bank robbery spree in South Florida has been arrested, FBI officials said Thursday.

Jason Lee Robinson, 49, was arrested on federal bank robbery charges for his alleged involvement in the Dec. 28 robbery of a Capital Bank branch in Aventura, officials said.

Robinson, who is from Pikeville, Kentucky, was arrested in Fruita, Colorado. He remained in federal custody Thursday, and attorney information wasn't available.

Robinson was dubbed the "Traveling Bandit" for allegedly robbing multiple banks across the country, including in North Carolina, Tennessee, Alabama, Illinois and Utah.
