Trump traveled to Key West, Florida, on Thursday for an update from the Joint Interagency Task Force South. The agency is responsible for keeping tabs on drug trafficking by sea, air and online.
Trump says "drugs are flowing into our country" through the Pacific and the Caribbean. He also made another pitch for a wall on the U.S.-Mexico border to help stop drug smuggling.
The task force says that last year it helped disrupt a record 283 metric tons of cocaine and detained nearly 900 suspected members of drug trafficking organizations.
The president has made cracking down on the illegal drug trade a priority for his administration.
Trump is staying in Florida through the weekend after hosting Japan's prime minister at Trump's estate in Palm Beach earlier in the week.
