Miami “Twilight” Fans Get “New Moon” Mania

Thousands of screaming teens show up for screening in Aventura

Hours before the curtain went up on "New Moon", the movie mania was in full effect in Miami. The latest installment of the "Twilight" saga had fans at a premiere showing at the Aventura Mall theatre out of control Thursday night.

"I read the books like eleven times", said teen Katrina Abadia. " I think Stephenie Meyer is the best writer ever because she writes different from other authors."

About 3,800 lucky fans got the chance to watch the advanced screening at AMC Aventura 24. The movie goers were Nordstrom shoppers who received VIP tickets after purchasing "Twilight" inspired merchandise recently lauched at Nordstrom.

"I got team Edwards on - it says 'I Love Boys who Sparkle," said one 15-year-old girl decked out in a black and silver "Twilight" ensemble.  "I'm wearing Team Jacob because Edward bites," screamed another Twi-Hard.

The romance between mortal and vampire soars to a new level on the second installment of the "Twilight" series,  a make believe world that has these Twi-Hards, as they're called, caught up.  "He's like the fantasy guy that every girl wants,"  said fan Sydney Altfield as she spoke about vampire Edward Cullen played by heartthrob Robert Pattinson.  "We're dating", screamed another young teen.

The first movie sucked in $400 million and the sequel movie "New Moon" is expected to take an even bigger bite of the box office.
