Two Arrested For Stealing $40,000 Worth of Pet Medications from Animal Hospital

After about a monthlong investigation, a former animal hospital employee and her boyfriend were arrested for stealing $40,000 worth of pet medications in Wilton Manors, police said.

Paige Johnson, a former employee of Arbor Animal Hospital, and her boyfriend, Casey Horton, were arrested on six counts of burglary and six counts of grand theft, police said.

Johnson worked at the hospital for three years before resigning in May after a management dispute, authorities said. She told police she had her key to the hospital duplicated.

Johnson and Horton told police they went into the hospital six times after it closed and stole more than $40,000 of pet medications, police said.

After stealing the medication, they listed it on Craigslist, according to police.

A Wilton Manors' undercover detective assigned to the Broward County Drug Task Force bought the medicine from Horton twice, police said.

Johnson and Horton are in a Broward County jail. Each have a bond amount of $6,500, according to online jail records. It was not immediately known if they had attorneys.
