The Pembroke Pines Police Department said it arrested two suspects after a robbery that led to a temporary lockdown at Flanagan High School.
The robbery victim said he met up with two people, who may be under the age of 18, to sell his iPhone 7 in a public parking lot between the school and the YMCA Aquatic Center.
The suspects attempted to run away with the phone and the money that was to be traded but were apprehended nearby, police said.
The school was locked down for less than an hour. The YMCA was not open at the time.
"The robbery which occurred today near the YMCA Aquatic Center involved the victim meeting the suspects to sell a phone," the PPPD wrote on Twitter. "Safety Reminder: the East & West PDs are available as 'Safe Deal Zones' for online transactions. If they won't meet you at a PD, they likely have ill intent!"
