Two men have been arrested in the murder of a young woman in Fort Lauderdale, police said.
Harveitz Beaubrun, 19, is charged with murder in the death of Lakendra Jones, who was shot and killed on Feb. 1. Martelli Metellus, 24, is charged with accessory after the fact of murder.
Both men were arrested Saturday night in Riviera Beach by the Fort Lauderdale Police Homicide Unit and Career Criminal Unit, working with the US Marshals South Florida Fugitive Task Force. Both remained behind bars without bond Friday, and it was unknown if they have attorneys.
Police said Jones, 18, was found shot in the 700 block of Northwest 3rd Avenue. She was taken to Broward Health Medical Center where she later died.
