Army Specialist Fatally Stabbed Outside Wife's Central Florida Home by Her Ex-Boyfriend: Police

Police in Florida say an Army specialist was fatally stabbed outside his wife's home by the woman's ex-boyfriend who is also the father of her child.

Spc. Victor Badilloalvarez, 26, was stationed in Fort Hood in Texas but his hometown was in Puerto Rico. He was visiting his wife in Kissimmee when he was stabbed Dec. 27.

Police tell the Orlando Sentinel that the couple was sleeping when they heard tapping on the window and saw the wife's ex-boyfriend and father of her child, 18-year-old Randal Jose Bracetty-Atancacio, outside.

According to police, after a confrontation, Asheley Grullon saw her husband doubled over and Bracetty-Atanacio backing away with a knife.

She had been yelling at Samuel Rivera-Rivera, 19, who brought Bracetty-Atanacio in his vehicle, when the stabbing occurred.

When police arrived, two men were standing over Badilloalvarez holding a towel over his abdomen.

Badilloalvarez told police that "Randal, the baby's dad" stabbed him.

He later died at a hospital.

Police later made contact with Bracetty-Atanacio, who claimed he stabbed Badilloalvarez in self-defense.

He told police that he came to the home to discuss his relationship with Grullon.

He claimed he had the knife because he is employed as a cook, and told police he threw the knife out of the car window while Rivera-Rivera drove him away.

Bracetty-Atanacio was held without bond Tuesday on charges of second-degree murder and tampering with evidence. Rivera-Rivera was arrested and charged with accessory to murder after the fact, and ordered held on $10,000 bond.

Osceola County jail records don't show whether either of the men have an attorney.

According to the Army, Badilloalvarez enlisted in 2012 and served in Afghanistan in 2014.
