Two Cops, Four Others Injured in Crash

Squad car collides with SUV in Northwest Miami-Dade, pedestrian hit

A police squad car responding to an emergency call collided with another car in Northwest Miami-Dade Thursday night, sending six people -- including two female officers -- to the hospital.

The crash happened around 6 p.m. at the intersection of 75th St. and Northwest 22nd Ave.

Police say the marked cop car had its roof lights flashing as it approached the intersection, where it collided with a Mitsubishi Montero that was carrying three people.

One of the passengers in the SUV was ejected from the Montero, which hit a pedestrian as it skidded to a corner of the intersection.

All six of the people involved were transported to Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital. The unidentified man who was ejected from the SUV was in serious but stable condition. Everyone else was in stable condition.

The Miami-Dade Police Department said they're still investigating how the crash happened.
