Two Floors of Doubletree Grand Hotel Evacuated Due To Fire

There were no injuries, Miami Fire-Rescue said

Two floors of the Doubletree Grand Hotel Biscayne Bay were evacuated Saturday afternoon after a fire started at a condominium next door.

There were no injuries, though there was heavy water damage from sprinklers, Miami Fire-Rescue spokesman Lt. Ignatius Carroll said.

The cause of the fire at the Grand, at 1717 N. Bayshore Drive, remains undetermined.

The occupants were allowed back in after the fire was extinguished, Carroll said.
