Two Killed, Six Injured in Margate Crash

Two people were killed and six were injured after a fatal crash in Margate Monday night.

The crash happened around 9 p.m. at the intersection of Rock Island Road and Holiday Springs Boulevard, Margate Police said.

A 2004 Toyota Corolla was traveling west through the intersection when it collided with a 2004 Honda Odyssey traveling south on Rock Island Road.

Two female passengers of the Toyota were pronounced dead at the scene, one of them ejecting from the vehicle, said Division Chief Dan Booker.

The other two female passengers in the Toyota were taken to North Broward Medical Center and are in serious condition.

The driver and three passengers, including toddlers, of the Honda Odyssey were taken to Northwest Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

None of the victims were identified and the cause of the traffic crash is still under investigation.
