Two Killed, Three Injured in Miami-Dade Shooting

Gunmen open fire on group at abandoned laundromat

Two people are dead and three were injured after gunmen opened fire on a group of people at an abandoned laundromat in Northwest Miami-Dade early Tuesday morning.

The shooting happened at the laundromat at Northwest 27th Ave. and 49th St., when a group of gunmen approached another group of people hanging out in the abandoned business, where witness said people drank and played dominoes and cards.

Two people were killed at the scene, including a man identified by police as 35-year-old Kevin Brown, a county bus driver. Another two were rushed to Jackson Memorial Hospital, where their injuries are unknown, though police said they're in stable condition. A third victim was treated at the scene and released.

Police had marked off several bullet shells at the scene with yellow numbers. Witnesses said they heard as many as 40 shots fired.

"All I heard was just a volley of shots," said nearby resident Johnny Turner. "It's a crying shame that things have to go off like this, it's getting monotonous."

Police are still looking for multiple gunmen. Anyone with information of the shooting is asked to call Miami-Dade CrimeStoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
