Two Pedestrians Killed After Being Struck by Car in Dania Beach

Two pedestrians were struck and killed by a car in Dania Beach Saturday night.

According to Broward Sheriff’s Office, the incident happened at around 7:40 p.m. The two people were trying to cross Sheridan Street near Federal Highway.

Officials said the car was traveling westbound in the left lane and had the right of way when the man and woman were hit.

The woman, who police will identify once her next of kin is notified, was pronounced dead at the scene. Raymond Juarez, the second pedestrian, was taken to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The driver, who was identified as Leslie O’Hare, remained at the scene and didn’t report any injuries. Detectives don’t suspect the driver was under the influence and they don’t suspect speed was a contributing factor to the crash.

Detectives will continue to investigate the incident.
