At least eight people were hospitalized after a crash involving an SUV and a Miami-Dade Transit bus in Miami on Monday afternoon, officials said.
Miami Fire Rescue officials said at least 12 people were injured in the crash that happened in the area of Northwest 79th Street and 8th Avenue just before 5:30 p.m.
Two of the people in the SUV were being transported to Ryder Trauma Center and the other two were taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital. One of the patients was a 12-year-old girl.
Eight people on the bus were evaluated and four were transported to local hospitals, officials said.
More than 38 people were on the bus at the time of the accident. The bus driver wasn't injured.
The cause of the crash was unknown.
