Two People in Custody After Alleged Break-In of Car at Miami-Dade Police Officer's Home

At least two people were taken into custody Wednesday morning after an alleged burglary attempt of a vehicle at the home of a Miami-Dade Police officer inside a Kendall neighborhood.

Officers and investigators arrived at the home in the Kendale Lakes neighborhood after reports of the attempted break-in before 2:30 a.m. with the officer involved telling others at the scene that he heard alarms going off and saw two people breaking into the car.

Miami-Dade Police confirmed that the officer held the people involved at the scene and two people were taken into custody – one male and one female – while two other suspects got away.
