Two Shot in Fight at Miramar Restaurant

Man in critical condition after early morning shooting

Police are investigating after two people were shot at a Miramar eatery early Monday morning.

One man was left in critical condition and another person grazed by a bullet when the shooting happened around 2 a.m. at Elle's in the 12000 block of Miramar Parkway, police said.

Police said the shooting happened after the man tried to break up a confrontation between two groups.

"Unfortunately, it was an individual who tried to break up this argument and he was shot multiple times and then there was also an innocent bystander who was shot as well," said Miramar Police spokeswoman Tania Rues.

The man was rushed to Memorial Regional Hospital. The person grazed by the bullet had non-life threatening injuries, Rues said.

No one was arrested, police said.

Rues said there were nearly 100 people at Elle's at the time of the shooting, and that it took several hours to conduct interviews.
