Half-Baked: Students Hospitalized After Eating Weed-Filled Cookies

South Plantation High students have bad reaction to drug-laced desserts

Some pot-laced treats got a pair of South Plantation High students a little too high Friday morning, sending them to the hospital for treatment, officials said.

Authorities say two boys, ages 15 and 16, had a bad reaction after they consumed the drug-filled sweets, which were cookies, at the school at 1300 Paladin Way.

The boys ate split a single chocolate chip cookie, but that was enough to cause one to have a stomache ache. He went to the school's clinic and tossed his cookies before spilling the beans on what he had eaten.

Both two students were taken to Plantation General Hospital for treatment, according to Broward County Schools spokesperson Marsy Smith. Both are expected to be ok.

A third student who brought the druggie desserts to class was being questioned by authorities and faces drug charges.
