Hundreds of colorful umbrellas are hanging high in the sky over Giralda Plaza in Coral Gables, making for a great photo opportunity with a positive message.

Portugal-based creative agency Sextafeira created the Umbrella Sky Project to bring life and protection to public spaces.

Since the project's inception in 2011 in Águeda, Portugal, the umbrellas have popped up in Lisbon, Paris, and in just three cities in the United States.

The Umbrella Sky Project in Coral Gables was made possible through the city, the Coral Gables Community Foundation and the Business Improvement District of Coral Gables.

The installation opened Friday and will be on display over the next two months. See the umbrellas at Giralda Plaza in the 100 block of Giralda Avenue.
