University of Miami Hurricanes Depart for Sweet Sixteen

The Miami Hurricanes men’s basketball team has advanced to the Sweet Sixteen for the second time in school history.

Fans gathered outside the BankUnited Center late Tuesday afternoon to send off the University of Miami men’s basketball team on its way to the Sweet Sixteen.

Miami is in the NCAA Tournament's round of 16 for only the second time in school history. The Hurricanes play Marquette in Washington, D.C. on Thursday night.

Coach Jim Larranaga has been telling his players to enjoy the moment.

“It’s always been my way to try to encourage the players to enjoy the journey, and that the most fun is playing well and winning – and keep playing well and keep winning and keep advancing,” he said.
