    • The school’s President, Dr. Julio Frenk, sent a letter out to students, faculty and staff confirming the incidents.

    • In both cases, a Nazi swastika was drawn on the white board outside of a female student’s room.

For the second time in a week, officials at the University of Miami are investigating who drew an anti-Semitic symbol outside of a student’s dorm room.

The school’s President, Dr. Julio Frenk, sent a letter out to students, faculty and staff confirming the incidents on April 10th at Eaton Residential College and April 14th at Stanford Residential College. In both cases, a Nazi swastika was drawn on the white board outside of a female student’s room.

UM officials would not go on camera with NBC 6 and said that the Coral Gables Police is handling the investigation.

“At the University of Miami, we are a united community,” Frenk wrote in his letter. “We are saddened and concerned by the incidents, but they motivate us to reaffirm our commitment to providing a safe and supportive environment for everyone.”

The school’s Hillel chapter said they are “deeply saddened” to learn of a second hate symbol being posted – adding they would be supporting members of the group during the difficult time.

A similar incident occurred in 2010, when four swastikas were found throughout the campus – including inside the Hecht Residential College for freshman.
