Veteran S. Fla Broadcaster Kelley Mitchell Dies at 58

Veteran South Florida broadcast journalist Kelley Mitchell died Sunday at the age of 58.

Mitchell's signature style of reporting and trademark voice are well known to longtime South Florida residents who watched her for years on television stations WSVN, and later, WPLG.

More recently, Mitchell was an afternoon anchor on WLRN radio until January of this year.

After parting ways with the station, Mitchell filled in at radio station WIOD which put her back on the same station as her 1990's WSVN co-anchor, Rick Sanchez.

In 2003, Mitchell invited cameras to document her personal battle with breast cancer for WPLG viewers.

The cause of Mitchell's death is not immediately known. She is survived by her husband.
