Several Coral Springs police officers have been placed on administrative leave over a video that appears to show a cop kicking a man in handcuffs.

The Coral Springs Police Department said Wednesday they are conducting a criminal investigation into a video from an anonymous witness that was filmed Tuesday.

"We take this matter very seriously," Coral Springs police said.

Gabriel Narcisse-Beckford, 28, was arrested on charges of petit theft and was sitting on a curb in handcuffs when an officer walks over and appears to kick him twice in the video. Another witness angle, taken from further away, appears to show the same scenario.

Online booking records show Beckford is also facing charges of battery on an officer and resisting an officer.

Coral Springs Police officials said the state attorney's office has been contacted.
