Police released surveillance video Tuesday showing a North Miami cell phone store worker pistol-whipped and beaten during an attempted robbery.
The robbery happened Monday morning at the CB Wireless store in the 11900 block of Northwest 7th Avenue, North Miami Police said.
"It makes you feel insecure. You're here, working hard, and these people rob you like it's nothing," said an employee who works nearby.
The video shows one suspect go into the store and start a conversation with the worker, before a second suspect comes inside and demands money from the register at gunpoint.
A struggle ensues and the armed suspect starts hitting the worker before the second suspect joins in. The victim was pistol-whipped repeatedly, sustaining lacerations to the head, police said.
The suspects fled the store. The worker was hospitalized and later released.
