Vigilant Witness Leads Wilton Manors Police to Burglary Suspects

Two burglary suspects were taken into custody earlier this week, thanks to a vigilant witness.

On Jan. 5 around 1:25 p.m., Wilton Manors Police responded to a residential burglary in progress in the 500 block of Northeast 28th Street.

A neighbor called 911 after witnessing two men jumping the fence surrounding his neighbor's residence.

Police established a perimeter and assistance was provided by the Broward Sheriff's Office Aviation Unit.

Officers were able to take the two suspects into custody a short distance away. They have been identified as 24-year old Jean Guerrier and 19-year old Nickson Marcellus.

They both face charges of burglary and grand theft. In addition, Guerrier was also charged with false ownership information for pawned items and dealing in stolen property.
