The number of vacation destinations where LGBTQ travelers can be themselves has grown exponentially over the last several years.

As part of W Hotels' platform to embrace inclusivity and equality of travelers worldwide, the international hotel chain is launching a series of curated online travel guides of historic and social destinations around the world that offers queer travelers the opportunity to explore locations that have shaped LGBTQ history.

The once scarce amount of cruises and tours that cater to gay travelers is now a routine getaway at many high-end hotels.

For over 20 years, W Hotels has advocated for the LGBTQ community and has marketed their brand to target gay travelers.

The hotel wants to evolve beyond pride festivals and rainbow flags, and create destinations within their own international brand for LGBTQ travelers to broaden their horizons with unexpected places that aren’t always the first that come to mind.

The first guide debuts June 6 on the W Hotels website and will release a series of guides with videos and editorial content throughout the year. The W Hotels in Mexico City, Istanbul, Atlanta and Brisbane are among the announced destinations that will have a virtual guidebook.
