Checking into your hotel is about to get a little bit easier at Walt Disney World.
Coming soon to Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, guests will be able to unlock their hotel room using a digital key on their smart phones.
Guests will also be able to unlock hotel entrance gates, pools, fitness centers, elevators and lounges with their mobile devices.
Those who check-in online won’t even have to visit the front desk and will be able to go straight to their hotel room once it is ready.
Guests will still be able to use their Magicbands to unlock their hotel rooms.
Once guests opt in to use their digital keys, they use the My Disney Experience app to set up the process, press “unlock door” and hold the phone against the door lock.

It’s unclear when the program will launch. The program will start at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and eventually will expand to other hotels around the property.
